About Andrew Samuels
Andrew was a practicing attorney before making the decision to take his career in another direction and pursue his passion of coaching. He sees runners not only as athletes, but as individuals, and his coaching philosophy encompasses his values - individualized training with the goal of bettering the runner as both athletically and personally.
Description
My love for competitive running took hold in my adolescence - I haven't looked back since, completely immersing myself in the sport both personally and professionally. I am currently in training with Nike Moonshot program and am a running coach at the Mile High Run Club in New York City. Prior to my career in running, I was a practicing attorney. Every day I grew more and more unfulfilled, finally making the decision to take my career in another direction and pursue my passions. I am not somebody who was brought up training with the hopes of running collegiately or qualifying for olympic trials. In fact, I went through most of my life before I discovered my love of the sport. I believe that every individual has the opportunity to identify what they want out of life and the choice to pursue those goals. I believe running is a medium to become a stronger individual in pursuit of those goals. I believe there are so many runners just like me - individuals with demanding jobs and personal lives who are thankful they get to enjoy the freedom, empowerment and inspiration running provides. My coaching philosophy celebrates this. For me, coaching is about connection, identifying what works for each individual athlete and providing the tools and support necessary for each athlete's success. Additionally, as a NASM certified personal trainer, I am cognizant of the importance of supplementing running workouts with strength training. My training plans incorporate running focused strength work designed to prevent injury and increase speed and endurance.

Accepting clients of all abilities interested in improving athletically through a systematic and thoughtful approach to running and personally by pushing limits and challenging the idea that we shouldn't settle for anything less than total fulfillment.
