About Lisa Brody
I have been running pretty much non-stop for the past 30 years, and I've trained for and completed many races of various distances from the 5k to the 50k (including several marathons, one Boston). I'm also a single mom of 3 kids, so I fully understand the need for flexibility in a training plan! Coaching at its best is a collaboration and conversation, so I encourage constant feedback from my athletes as we go.
Description
During my time running I have worked with several different coaches and have also been self-coached. I am now in my 50s and though my race PRs all come from when I was much younger, I continue to put in relatively high mileage for the pure joy of running. While I've been able to stay mostly injury free, I've also had the experience of rehabbing and returning after an injury, so I can definitely help runners who may be in that situation as well.
What I hope to provide as a coach is someone who can look at the big picture while providing accountability and feedback. Your training plan will be completely personalized, taking into consideration your experience, ability, schedule, and objectives. I am passionate about helping you achieve your running goals, whether it is completing your first marathon or setting a new personal best.
I am excited to work together with you to set goals and to discuss the best ways to achieve those goals, always being open to adjustments based on life, fatigue, time constraints, and anything else that may come up as we go. I strongly believe that coaching should be highly personal and personalized, so I encourage constant conversation with my athletes. Running should be both fun and rewarding! Daily comments would be primarily through the VDOT calendar, with check-ins via email or text also encouraged.
Reach out and let's see if I can help you achieve your goals!
