I've been running for 20 years and it has changed my life in many ways. I love helping other runners to work towards their goals and accomplish great things!
Description
Lisa started running in high school to stay in shape for other sports. She continued running through college as a way to maintain some fitness. In her early 20s, she fell in love with running and it became a way to manage stress during grad school and working full time. In 2007 Lisa signed up for her first race, the Baltimore Half-Marathon. She ran a 1:53 and was hooked on racing! Since then she has run 6 full marathons, 13 half-marathons, and countless other shorter races. Lisa became a certified running coach in 2014, but before that was informally coaching family and friends. She loves creating personalized training plans for her athletes, supporting them in their running, and seeing them accomplish their goals. Over the years Lisa has faced many setbacks including various injuries (one that resulted in hip surgery) and returning to running after a c-section. She has learned that it is possible to return to running stronger than before and that every situation is different and unique. She can help you navigate your return to running with plenty of personalized support along the way. When she is not running, Lisa is a licensed mental health counselor working with K-12 schools. Her counseling skills have helped her to truly connect with athletes and form trusting relationships in order to coach effectively.
Athlete Requirements
Willingness to work towards a goal and develop a trusting athlete/coach relationship. I can provide guidance but you know your body best!
