We strive to help athletes of all levels achieve and exceed their goals.
Running is a sport that takes time, effort, and dedication. It brings ups and downs and always teaches life lessons. I take pride in joining athletes on their journey from the starting line to the finish line and partnering with them in all of life's ups and downs along the way.
Description
Running found me in 2002 as freshman in high school. The intensity of competition, the joy of the race, and the camaraderie spending miles with friends quickly pulled me in, thus, beginning my ongoing relationship with running. I spent my time in high school as a leader on the Cross Country team, not always the fastest, but always pushing the team to get better. I got the opportunity to run a couple years in college and ran distances up to 20 miles, including 70+ mile weeks. Some of the hardest but most rewarding times of my life were setting 5k and 8k personal records at 17:00 and 28:30, respectively. After college I took a short break but continued my relationship with running pursuing a career in the specialty running industry. I managed a specialty running store for 5 years and conducted half marathon training clinics. This was my first taste of coaching in 2014 and I've been at it ever since. My posted half marathon time is 1:32 and my desire is to improve that time in the next year (2019).
Running in everything from the 5k to the half marathon I've had a lot of opportunity to learn what each step of each race feels like and what it takes to accomplish the expected outcome. I have always found that a definite challenge and a bit of encouragement has been the biggest help to my success as a runner. This is something I carry into my own coaching. When all is said and done, the race is yours and I cannot run it for you. Helping others to experience the challenge and the reward of the work has been as equally fulfilling endeavor and I look forward to helping others confidently exceed their goals.
