Running since 1991, coaching since 2003, living and still running in beautiful Flagstaff, AZ.
Description
I began coaching through a local running store in Charlotte, North Carolina shortly after finishing my college career in 2002. I was fascinated by the different circumstances that people had to deal with in their everyday lives and how those circumstances influenced their training. Family, school, work and the general details of life all factor into our running, so ignoring those aspects when considering training time and intensity can lead to a sub-par performance on race day.
My passion for creating custom training plans comes from the desire to help others get the most out of themselves, regardless of their circumstances. I have found that being flexible and creative as a coach plays a primary role in the success of the athletes I work with.
I have been fortunate to spend most of my life in and around the sport of distance running. My goals continue to be to help shorten the learning curve for others. Running is hard work but it's very rewarding. There are many things to learn and mistakes to make along the way. A coach's job is to help minimize the mistakes and help you make the experience as fun and efficient as possible.
Athlete Requirements
Athletes can be of any level, from absolute beginner to experienced veteran. The key to success in any good coach/athlete relationship begins with communication. All athletes are asked to stay on top of their training logs in the VDOT O2 app.
