My name is David Schwinger, and I’m one of the youngest USATF-certified run coaches in Western New York! My biggest coaching interests are in endurance-focused activities, and I have experience coaching youth to college-age for most track & field events. I’ve individually coached athletes of all ages and would love to help you too!
Description
My focus is on helping people unlock their potential through physical and mental performance. I believe people don’t know what they are capable of, and together we can get as close as possible to discovering this. I use an autonomy-supportive coaching style and wrote my thesis paper about the effects this approach has on performance and both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
I spent a year assistant coaching at Daemen University for cross country and track & field, and three years working with Snyder Track & Field coaching groups within their club team. There, I also co-taught multiple 6-week courses for kids 3-8 years old about the entire wheelhouse of track & field events.
I’m interested in working with individuals and small groups of all ages to achieve endurance-related goals utilizing the training philosophy I’ve developed through 5 years of college athletics at @daemenxctf and over a decade of running experience. Through studying pedagogical methods and behavioral science, I’m able to adapt training structure to individual needs based on their autonomy and physiological demands.
Message or email me to learn more. Hopefully we can work together :)
