About John Verhagen
Once a 300-pound teenager, I transformed my life through running, resilience, and relentless dedication. Today, I'm a 3-time Boston Marathoner, 7-time Boston qualifier, and 100-mile ultramarathon finisher. Now, I use my journey to help others achieve their own health, fitness, and running goals—whether you're just starting out or chasing your next PR. If I can do it, so can you.
Description
I’m a passionate coach who’s all-in on helping runners chase their goals — whether that’s crossing your first finish line, setting a PR, qualifying for a big race, or simply finding more joy and purpose in training. My coaching style is built on my own decade + of running experience and what I’ve learned from some of the best athletes and coaches in the world. Much of the training I provide is highly individualized — built around your unique needs, goals, and lifestyle. I take a long-term approach to ensure training isn’t rushed or forced, but focused on helping you make meaningful progress today while setting you up for even bigger breakthroughs down the road. Whether you’re gearing up for your first race, trying to break through a plateau, or chasing a big, scary goal, I’m here to help you figure out what’s possible — and then make it happen.
