Hi, I’m Lindsey Altermatt, founder of MN Trail Run Collective. I’ve been a runner for over 26 years, with experience ranging from road marathons to the rugged ultramarathon, and everything in between. While I have a deep love for Minnesota’s trail systems, I value every mile, whether it's on pavement or dirt. I help runners build a bridge between their current fitness and their wildest goals. As the founder of the MN Trail Run Collective, my coaching is centered on meeting you exactly where you are today, regardless of your pace, surface, or experience level.
My perspective is shaped by 26+ years of running and a professional background working behind the scenes for a major race event company. Having seen the finish line from every angle—from elite logistics to the back-of-the-pack experience—I understand that a successful race day is built on more than just a training plan. I use that insider knowledge to help you navigate the logistics, terrain, and mindset that generic plans often miss.
I focus on purposeful, individualized training that strips away "elite" labels to prioritize the miles that matter most to you. Whether you’re chasing a road 5K, a marathon PR, or your first trail ultra, let’s make your goals a reality.
Athlete Requirements
My only requirement is a willingness to show up as you are and a commitment to the process. I work with runners of all levels who are ready to build a bridge to their wildest goals, whether that’s on the road or the trail. You don’t need an "elite" resume or the latest gear—you just need a desire to improve and a way to track your progress, whether that's a watch, a phone, or just a pair of shoes. Whether you are starting from scratch or leveling up your distance, if you are ready to be consistent and have a little fun with the miles, you’re in the right place.
