About Toni Kengor
I'm Toni - an enthusiastic, energetic, supportive, not-afraid-to-challenge you, hard-working, fun-having coach! As an athlete, I'm big on working extremely hard towards my goals, but never forgetting to have fun along the way. I believe a relaxed and confident mentality brings success, and I try to help my athletes channel that in their own running!
Description
I love to see the world through running, watching baseball games, and random adventures with my yellow lab named Brooks (Yup, like the running company)! I'm from a little town in eastern Pennsylvania called Mohnton, but now consider Pittsburgh to be more like home (for half of the year)! Quick backstory, my husband’s a professional baseball player, so I love hittin' the road (wherever that may be) to support him chasing his dreams, while I also chase my own!
I found running after my collegiate soccer days were over, and lost all hope in finding something that could excite my competitive spirit again. Running was actually something I completely resented for the longest time! After taking my first step, and crossing my first finish line with my best friends from college, I fell in love with the concept of keeping one foot in front of the other, and the "ME vs. ME" mentality. My mind, body, and even career have transformed thanks to this amazing sport, I'm constantly learning...and going after goals and dreams I never thought were possible!
Personal Bests:
5K: 21:16
Marathon: 3:35:23
Athlete Requirements
If your heart is in it, I'm on board. I have experience working with a wide variety of athletes chasing all different goals:
- Running continuously
- Running their first 5K-Marathon
- Boston and NYC Marathon Qualifying times
- Building back from an injury
- Finding their love of running again
- Getting faster
- Building endurance, etc.
I'm big on helping identify what goal excites YOU, the athlete. Once we find out what that is, then we can look at your history, experience, life, etc and create something that supports you, and your goals.
It's important to me that we have open communication - for the good and hard conversations. If I have feedback for you as an athlete, know it's always coming from a good place and because I want to help you achieve your greatest potential. I also want you to feel comfortable about sharing any feedback with me - if there's something you need more/less of, something's not feeling right, etc. Let's talk about it! It helps me support YOU better, and our athlete/coach relationship.
Lastly, I look at my athletes as human beings first, and runners second. You can trust that your best interest and health (mental and physical) will remain my number 1 priority. I will always the coach you can count on to be in your corner for the good days, the bad days and everything in-between!
